Neil

Hi, I’m Neil, 56 years old and diagnosed with YOPD Parkinson’s in 2009.
I live with my partner NIna in the Midlands who also has PD and is an
accomplished artist. We have a black Labrador dog called Sasha who gets me
out and about walking her locally.
I write poetry and host a FB group called “The Shakey Poet” where I publish
mine and members poems sharing our experiences of life with Parkinson’s and
on a wide range of other subjects. It was through our mutual interest in poetry.
I met DJ Johnny and he invited me to submit my poems and to recite them after
listening to his show on RadioParkies. I began helping more by collecting poems
for the show and reciting for people who didn’t have the confidence to.
DJ Johnny encouraged me to try DJ’ing , kindly taking me under his wing,
I have an eclectic taste in music that’s predominantly led by classic rock,
bands such as Led Zepplin and the Doors. I plan to play lots of genres in music
on my show from 60’s up to present day hope you can join me.
